Thorium is part of our energy future, that is until we get fusion.
Well it looks like Michigan, with a republican majority has balanced a state budget. Of course the first thing that happens is that the democrats scream that the surplus be spent!

Another one bites the dust.
President Washington is rolling in his grave right now. Not with so much at stake, not at this make-or-break moment for middle-class Americans. We’re not going to let that happen. (Applause.)

1. The overly optimistic unemployment forecast of the Obama White House. This may be the most infamous economic prediction in U.S. political history (helpfully updated by The Right Sphere).

HURRY!
can i add you to my page
As much as I am into exploring space, I can not see us colonizing another planet anytime in the near future. True, the technology exists, but the cost of transporting basic life support to another world is not feasable. I mean, we could theoretically do it, but there is not enough money on the planet.
I hate to be a kill-joy, but I know a little about living and surviving in a hostile, alien enviroment. I was on a submarine. If I were not inside the craft, I would be crushed by the weight of the "atmosphere", and even if I werent immediately crushed, I wouldn't be able to breathe.
Everything we needed to eat, drink, smoke, breathe, etc, had to be brought along with us, or manufactured by us. I am sure you could go to the navy and get a ballpark figure for the daily cost of keeping a 120 man crew in a sub.Unless you know something I don't.......I don't see it happening anytime in the near future.
I've nominated you for an award here. Better hurry over...the facilitator has been on a delete spree!
