I don't particularly like my Senator for many reasons, but this article, reviewing a book about the problems with TARP, give me a bit of hope for the guy.
One particularly interesting tidbit is that Shelby was supporting downsizing the banks, and it was the administration, led by Timmy (I forgot to pay my taxes) Geithner that killed it.
Barofsky also complimented Shelby for his support of an amendment during the 2010 banking reform debate that would have forced some of the largest banks to downsize, ending the notion that some banks are "too big to fail." The amendment, opposed by Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner, failed.
